Swiftly Does It …

Standard

So … I finally untangled all that yarn … it took me over ten hours in total, and caused me a huge amount of grief. I seriously could’ve cried. Mum still owed me a birthday present (I’m notoriously bad at deciding what I’d like), but if ever there was something I needed it was a swift – so I ordered one from CKB Ltd on Etsy. At £25.00 with free postage it was a bargain! It came earlier this week, and so this morning I hooked it up to my dining table and with some trepidation got out the twin skein to that which previously barfed. I must say, I was most impressed. I got that skein wound in next to no time, with absolutely no tangling. As you can see from the picture, I had a bit of a purple thing going on this morning!

The yarn? It’s Semi~Precious by Babylonglegs, in the colourway ‘Phantom Limb’. It’s such a beautiful colour, and the silk in it makes it glow and gleam – it’s looking beautiful knit up. The pattern I’m knitting is Fjaril by Yarn-Madness. Madeleine has, I believe, made a few changes to the pattern, including the addition of more sizes, and is hence having it test knit again. I must say, this is a lovely, easy and relatively quick knit. Unfortunately, the cable I’m using is a bit short to be able to spread out my WIP for a photo session, but I’m not really that far from the finishing line, so with any luck I’ll be able to share photos of the completed garment quite soon anyWay.

And now, it’s time for bed. I have to be up at 4.30 am to take my beloved Mike to work for 6.00 am!
